Imagining Landscapes: Georgia’s Clouds and Rivers with Deborah Stein 5/25/24

Imagining Landscapes: Georgia’s Clouds and Rivers with Deborah Stein 5/25/24

$185.00

In this workshop, we’ll play with intuitive landscape making, focusing specifically with ideas about cloud-making and the lines and curves of rivers and water in a landscape inspired by the gorgeous landscapes of “Georgia O’Keefe’s New Mexico”. I’ll help you lose inhibitions and trust your own instincts about what your images can be.

We’ll create a cloud diary, meditate on the twists and turns of water and river, explore what the “weather" of a painting might be, and paint a landscape born from your imagination all while practicing new ways to make marks, and work through techniques such as layering, dry-brush and wet-on-wet technique. We’ll work in much the same way Georgia O'Keefe realized her landscapes: seeing color, form and feeling our way through intuitive image-making as a way to meditate on ideas about land and sky.

All materials provided and all skill levels welcome!
