Small Worlds: Mixed Media Miniatures with Suzanne Sbarge 3/14/2026
Think big and work small in this workshop focused on the format of miniatures on paper and panels. We will tap into the history of miniatures and learn about contemporary collage practices. It can be liberating to make compositions within the confines of small surfaces, where creative decisions take up more of the space. This workshop will help you start your own compact studio for mixed media artmaking that’s easy to transport and spread out anywhere. Participants will use cut paper in combination with LDBA’s handmade watercolors and Flashe, a matte, opaque, water-based paint with extra vibrant tones. Explore diverse styles and directions from narrative to abstract while making highly portable works of art.
All skills levels are welcome. Materials are included, and participants are encouraged to bring their own collage materials to add to the mix.
