Holiday Cards: Gelli-Block Printing Techniques with Pam Porter 12/21/25
Celebrate the season with a hands-on holiday card printing workshop using Pam Porter’s signature Gelli-Block Printing technique. In this 5 hour class, participants will design and print their own collection of handmade holiday cards—perfect for giving or keeping.
Gelli-Block Printing is a hybrid process that Pam developed as a creative and simple way to add color and texture to linoleum block prints. This technique blends two approaches: colorful monoprints made on a soft gel plate, and carved linoleum blocks printed over them. Using the Gelli plate, artists roll on paint, use stencils, and layer colors to create rich textures and blended backgrounds. Once dry, black ink is rolled onto the carved linoleum blocks, and the designs are
printed directly on top of the Gelli prints. The result is a striking combination of loose color with crisp, graphic imagery—each piece bold, vibrant, and one-of-a-kind.
Pam Porter is an artist and creativity coach based in Colorado who grew up in Santa Fe and still loves returning to visit family and friends and reconnect with the creative community here. She teaches printmaking workshops throughout the Southwest, including Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico.
All materials included, and all skill levels welcome.
