Handmade Nature Journals: A Workshop on Nature, Color & Imagination w Deborah Stein 6/29/24

Handmade Nature Journals: A Workshop on Nature, Color & Imagination w Deborah Stein 6/29/24

$185.00

We’ll make two kinds of beautiful simple handmade watercolor journals, one large and one small and find ways to begin to fill them with observations of colors and sights from the natural world, like many explorers that came before with a unique modern twist. The perfect thing to have to take notes and make marks on your vacation to accompany your beautiful palette of watercolors.

Making your own journal is a wonderful way to take notes, keep track of what you find and see and think, track your favorite colors in nature, clouds, faces and mountains and practice drawing and scribbling.

After we make our journals we’ll go outside and paint, weather permitting and find ways to express what we see using pencil, watercolor and other marks including collage.  We'll practice note-taking, play with color mixing to explore the true colors we see in leaves, petals, bones and more. I’ll show you tricks for careful and carefree mark-making to create textures as well as making your notes and lettering sing!
