FRAGMENTS INTO FORM Weaving Memory into Meaningful Imagery with Elizabeth Wiseman 10/24/26
This intimate 4-hour workshop invites participants into a process of exploration through color, texture, and layered imagery.
Working with L’Ecole Des Beaux Arts’ handcrafted watercolors, Flashe paints from France, and a variety of mixed-media materials, we’ll build visual worlds through layering, composition, and material relationships. Through guided explorations and individual support, you’ll transform fragments, textures, and personal elements into a cohesive artwork.
I invite you to bring objects found along the way: small remnants of experience, pieces that carry significance, memory, or simple visual resonance. These fragments often become quiet evidence of our lives, reminding us that our experiences, however ordinary or private, add something to the collective human experience.
Personal artifacts and keepsakes can become the heart of an artwork, bringing singular meaning and resonance to the creative process. A variety of additional materials will also be provided for exploration. Fabric, papers, thread, textural elements, and other carefully chosen materials can be integrated into the surface to support the focal point and create visual unity.
Please choose found objects that are ¼ inch in depth or less. This ensures that the elements of your piece will integrate well on your canvas to create a balanced and pleasing affect.
No previous experience is necessary—the only requirements are curiosity and a willingness to explore the materials and imagery that resonate with you.
