Wet on Wet Technique: Vibrant Portraits of Flora & Fauna with Deborah Stein 5/4/24

Wet on Wet Technique: Vibrant Portraits of Flora & Fauna with Deborah Stein 5/4/24

$185.00

In this meditative Saturday workshop we’ll explore one of the techniques I love and use the most, wet on wet technique. We’ll make puddles and touch them with magic as we work large and small to explore ways colors interact with water. We’ll focus on the colors of Spring and play with ink and watercolor together to see how they dance in water on paper.
We’ll consider and practice mark-making. And layering color as well to see how different techniques might add depth and beauty to your paintings.
We’ll do some playful exercises to set you free from expectations of perfection and experiment our hearts out for a Sunday of water + color to remember. You’ll leave having created vibrant watercolors using ideas about flora: specifically the gorgeous Spring Flowers and the creatures that come out to play in the desert, woodlands and bosques of the great state of New Mexico.
All materials provided and all levels welcome! You are welcome to bring a model of a flower or creature you’d love to paint!
