A star-studded indigo class went down on Saturday. It just keeps getting better and better. Isa Rodriguez of the Textile Arts Center (TAC) taught a thoughtful and informative class with stunning results. The next class is in September. Sign up HERE.

Last Sunday we held a “Make Your Own Bows and Arrows” class with these 4 little artists: Elliott, Francesco, Rand and Kai. After we made the bows and arrows, we shot them at a painted target and then a game of “Cowboys and Indians” ensued.  Sign up for the next Bows and Arrows class happening in September!

This week we are preparing for LDBA Farm Camp! All next week we will be camping out under the stars, making art, taking care of animals, and learning all sorts of handy skills; not to mention having an adventure of a lifetime. We can keep the enrollment open until Wednesday, so sign your little one up while you can!

This weekend we had two great classes at LDBA: Indigo Dyeing and Lettering Class. Stay tuned for footage from them this week.

I jetted up to Maine last weekend, to celebrate my BFF’s 40th b-day! (Christopher David Ryan, pictured above). While I was there, I finally got to see More&Co’s shop in person! More&Co. is the genius behind the LDBA logo and website, as well as many other fantastic websites, brands and products. I pretty much bought everything in the store- if you hurry, you can too!  This is my favorite collection so far: from naturally dyed tote bags to notebooks to wooden toys and dishtowels, everything was perfect. The collection is called Wild, Natural, Free– in fact that’s exactly how my trip was! (I even got to hit the idyllic Maine Coast!)

This weekend we’ll be dyeing things blue in LDBA’s Indigo Dye Class happening Saturday. And then Sunday finds us making our own cards in LDBA’s Lettering Class: Both classes are still available for purchase here.

Also, it’s not too late to sign your kiddo up for LDBA Farm Camp, happening in just under 2 weeks. We’ve got all the details sorted, and we hope you’ll join the fun! (Like, really fun!)

For the last day of LDBA/NYC Day camp last Thursday, we threw a party! We began the sweltering day with drawings of our “spirit animals” and then hit the McArren Pool (with the rest of Brooklyn). After lunch we made our way to the private garden, (ok, really the hose in the private garden) and then got to work on face painting and animal crowns. Camp ended with treats from our councilors and an Animal Tea Party we won’t soon forget!

This weekend LDBA gears up for Indigo Dye Class and Lettering class. There are still spaces in both, but they are filling up fast! Also, we’re still holding a few spaces in LDBA FARM CAMP! Less than 2 weeks away, we’ll be out under the stars in the Berkshires, exploring, adventuring and having fun! Sign up here.

LDBA/NYC Day Camp: Week 2, Day 3. Surfing the High Line and learning history at grand central station

Slathered in sunscreen and armed with water and snacks, the LDBA Day Campers, Councilors and I took the NY High Line by storm last Wednesday. In the midst of the heatwave, our goal was to keep cool and have fun, enjoying yet another  feature of this amazing city we live in. When the heat got unbearable, we piled in the subway to the infamous Grand Central Station. I told a few stories of the building, including the history of the stunning ceiling, the Tiffany clock and the secret Whispering Wall. Yes, LDBA does Love NY.

Don’t forget FARM CAMP coming up!! Check it out and sign up here!
