Stranded, new mexico style

LDBA-Brooklyn, NYLDBA-Brooklyn, NY
Today was my 3rd cancelled flight back to New York from New Mexico. I had to travel to the airport (an hour away!) in order to actually talk to someone and change my flight, luckily this moon set was happening as the sun was rising: Stunning…The above picture is a collection of treasures I have come across during my trip in the desert; essential items when you are simultaneously traveling and stranded.
Glitter shoes, Sergio Valente jeans, both from the Salvation Army, a Russian sailor shirt, ethnic-print fabric used as a scarf, a New Mexico green chili, an eagle feather that my mom beaded (amazing!), my Midori Traveler’s notebook, three magic stones (don’t worry about it), French NUXE oil with gold dust, and my lipstick in perfect coral.

Many of you are without power, and I am sending you some Southwestern love. Stay safe, and please contribute to LDBA’s kickstarter campaign before time runs out. This storm will not bring us down- we need your help!

I met Jules a week before we flew to India and rode motorcycles through the Himalayas together. That’s another story, and an amazing one at that. Jules is one of my favorite people on the planet, and I love his paintings more than I can express. Jules has agreed to teach 2 classes at LDBA. They are described below. Also, he has a show tonight of new works at Salon 94 in NYC from 6-8pm. Don’t miss it.
